Happy (belated) birthday America! To all my US friends out there, I hope everyone had a lovely holiday. I spent the long weekend hanging out with friends, strolling scenic parts of Brooklyn with my squeeze, and checking out a minor-league baseball game on Coney Island.
It’s been a long time since I’ve been in New York City for the Fourth. I get stir crazy staying put for too long, so every chance I get, I’m online scouting for an airline ticket to elsewhere. This time around, however, I was unable to leave. Why? Well, we welcomed a new addition to our family!
I’d like to introduce you all to our new schnoodle Ramses – named after this big-time ancient fellow. (Yes, we were in fact honeymooning in Egypt when we decided on the name.) Both Husband and I are first-time dog owners, so – nerd that I am – I’ve been reading up on canine training. I’m proud to report that overall Ramses has been an awesome pup. By Day Two, he had learned to pee on his wee-wee pad and had stopped crying at bed time. He is also quite the Romeo. He loves giving kisses and also humping anything and everything in sight. (It’s something to behold!) Our vet says that since Ramses hasn’t received all his vaccinations yet, he’s not allowed out of the apartment. Suffice to say, I’m been spending a lot of time indoors. (But no complaints here!)

Which brings me to my next topic. I’ve been wondering what to do with this blog since I haven’t been traveling much internationally anymore, and I initially started this site to write about my adventures abroad. So I was thinking, why not turn this blog into an inspirational space for whatever it may be that I find fulfilling and let the content grow organically? So stay tuned for changes …
xoxo,
Holiday
