Happy birthday to me! Tomorrow is my birthday and I’ve come out of hibernation to post some happy news after a very long hiatus. I’m sorry for not being the attentive blogger that I promised to be in my previous entry. Life just kind of happened. Shortly after my last post, I started working at Freedom House doing research on freedom of the press issues and I received the biggest surprise of my life.
It’s fair to say that my birthday present came early this year …
I found out in late July that I was pregnant with a boy — and girl! That’s right, twins — two dumplings growing inside little me! To answer the first two questions I’m usually asked by friends and strangers alike: yes, it was a spontaneous conception and, no, twins do not run in the family. Suffice to say, Husband and I feel truly blessed to be given the soon-to-be gift of parenthood.
Here I am at 22 Weeks!
Before I met my Husband, I honestly never thought I would get married — let alone have children. I loved being a free bird and doing things my way and going places on my own. Just last month, the two of us celebrated our 1-year wedding anniversary together. (You can watch our awesome wedding video here.) Today, I cannot imagine life without him … and soon without them. What can I say, life just kind of happens. :)
